How You Can Land a Kitesurfing Kite on Your Own
Techniques for Self-Landing Your Kitesurf Kite
When There's No One There to Help…
Usually, when landing your kite surf kite, you'd want to have someone there to help you.
However, this self-landing of a kitesurfing kite tutorial is useful to know.
Why?
Because most of us at one time or another end-up on a beach somewhere far from our starting point where we launched the kite to begin with.
This commonly might happen if:
- You go down-wind too far
- Wind suddenly switches direction (Cabarete Kite Beach has stable winds, but other kite surfing beaches not always so) or
- You returned from kitesurfing but your helper was gone just then, maybe no one else around to help
…and so you must land the kite on your own.
There are 2 situations you will possibly encounter when you want to land your kite surf kite: Read more on How to Self Land a Kite Without Helpers…

Should You Buy a New or a Secondhand Kiteboarding Kite?
"What's best kite surfing kite for me and how to choose between used second hand kites or new kiteboarding kites?"
Basically your kite surfing kite purchase decision depends upon:
1. Your budget for buying one or more kiteboard kites
2. How frequently you'll be using your kiteboarding kite
3. In which conditions you'll be using your kite
Ok, so stick with me now, while I try to help you better understand pros and cons of new kite gear vs. used kiteboarding gear…
Point number 1. Your Budget.
If your budget is low, you basically have no options but to get a used kite.
Another thing for those of you who are stapped for cash is, that as a beginner a second hand kite you'd use in no-sun conditions is still a good way to catch 2 birds in one go; Think off it this way, if you save between 40-90% on the price of a new kite, and you'll probably need 2 kites, then you could save a lot of money which you can put towards sponsoring your kiteboarding lessons or maybe even your entire fun Caribbean kitesurfing kiteboarding vacation here in Kite Beach Cabarete!
Used equipment is cheaper, depending how old it is and the condition of kite.

Who Can Learn Kitesurfing
"Can a Teen Girl or Someone Over 50 Y.O. Learn How to KiteSurf?"
First of all, kitesurfing (kiteboarding) is considered an extreme sport, such as wakeboarding, rock-climbing, mountain biking etc. Even though our kitesurfing kites got way safer in 2006, with Bruno Levangay's invention of the BowKite, making the handling of kites much easier and with the possibility to depower the kite 95%, kiteboarding still requires the following:
- You need to feel confident in water
- Be a good swimmer
- Have good physical shape, no back problems or arthritic handicaps
If you're out of shape, overweight or very thin and have no muscles, you can do some simple streches and excercises to get a bit stronger. But anyway, you'll get stronger when you kitesurf.
Kite surfing is not as difficult on the arm nor strenuous on back muscles as windsurfing is.
Now, it doesn't matter if you're 12 or 50, muscelous or not…
We've taught 75 YO Dominican former windsurfer to kiteboard and we taught 10 YO children too.
We teach men and we teach women.
