Christmas is bygone. Here in Cabarete one notices it's Christmas thanks to the Irish Pub on the beach placing some air-filled dolls of a Santa on a surfboard…  And thanks to the droves of visiting holiday-makers escaping the cold and snow in North America or Europe. High Season has begone!

It's great to kiteboard at Kitebeach Cabarete- never need a wetsuit and during winter months it's not overly hot and humid- just perfectly pleasant and windy.

However, some of you don't like the sun and sea but prefer the snow and the mountains.

Snow Kiting is another form of kite surfing, only what, instead of using a kiteboarding board you use a snowboard and kitesurf a snowy mountain.

Some snow kite surfers use the kite to pull them up the mountain, to leap into the air and fly in leaps down the mountain.

Kite skiing is an extreme sport just like kitesurfing and wave riding. It may be a bit less dangerous to fall bad into the water, though… less risk of breaking your neck! Though existance of risks never stopped anyone from going on with kitesurfing, kite skiing,  snow kiting or finding the buzz with their paragliding cousin…

This new extreme snow sports participants are more commonly known as "snow kiteboarders" or "kite skiers".

The big air and big tricks are major reasons the snow kiting sport is growing fast .
