Is Kiteboarding Difficult to Learn?

How long does it take to learn to kiteboard?

How much time do I need to learn kiteboarding before I can kiteboard on my own?

To be a completly independent kiteboarder and be able to return to your starting point, you'll need 4-10 days of kiteboarding practice. Usually people need 2-4 h per day of: tuition for 2-3 days, then another 2-5 days under supervision.

For your first jumps you need 2-3 weeks of practice.

Most people are able to do back and front spins during the time frame of 3-5 weeks.

Kitexcite's remote radio teaching system (Using radio helmets, which is a helmet with built-in remote water proof walkie talkie) is perfect as a teaching aid tool to speed up your progress.

By the way, Kitexcite kiteboarding school and kiting center, in kitebeach Cabarete kite beach, has an advanced kiteboarding lesson program, mostly carried out by successful former kiteboarding worldcup competitors. Our advanced kiteboarding training program covers stuff like different spin styles and techniques and jumping.

A lot of people ask "whats's easier to learn, kitesurfing or windsurfing?"

Stefan: "I was a windsurfer for 20 years, did stunt windsurfing for German TV stations.
And I know both kiteboarding and windsurfing very well. And for me, I'd say wind surfing is easier to learn but kite surfing is faster to learn and more fun to do.
To be a good windsurfer, you need 3-4 years for your first power jive. I had a young German student here in Kite Beach for 5 weeks, he had no sporting background, yet he jumped back spins and riding like a pro after merely 5 weeks! "
(One kite replaces 4 windsurfing rigs…).
