"How Do I Choose a Good Kiteboarding School?"

ATTENTION! Here Are The 6 Most Important Questions You Need to Ask Any Kite Boarding School

When you want to find a Kite Boarding School for yourself, your other half or for Your Kids – so they can LEARN HOW TO KITEBOARD SAFER, EASIER AND FASTER – you want to be wise in your selection of a kiteboardING school.

Naturally, just about any kite boarding school you approach wants to make the sale and snag the customer, so they are not likely to enlighten you about the things you should know but might not think to ask about.

So we here (The Kitexcite Best Kiteboarding School) put together for you this short tutorial with the 6 top most important things you really need to take into account BEFORE you book any kiteboarding lessons or kiteboarding course or package.
This tutorial will help you AVOID wasting your money and your time.

What 6 Important Criteria Should You Pay Attention to?

First of all ask the kiteboarding schools you approach these questions:

a. "How Old is the Kiting Equipment You Teach With?"

Kiteboarding Equipment the kite school uses: From which year is their kiteboarding gear?

It is absolutely important for you that the kiteboarding school you choose has the latest kite models possible.

For example, in Kitexcite Kiteboarding School we use the latest kite models and nothing older than 6 months.
We consistently see some other schools teaching poeple like you how to kiteboard on 4 YO kiteboarding kites!
Many websites and kitesurfing schools even say a student should practice upon old gear, so as not to ruin a nice new kite while they learn to kitesurf.
They have a point, they save money… but it is not to your advantage.

Why is it So BAD for You to Take Kite Lessons Using Old Kite Gear?

Because every year kites get better.
In recent years kites kept getting more depower capabilities.
Old kites don't fly really well, and tend to fall out of the air on the head of the students…
Old kites don't deliver clean power to the bar.
Old kites don't water-start well.
It's difficult to manuever old kite boarding kites.

To sum it up, it's harder for you to learn how to kiteboard on old kites and it takes much longer.
That will cost you not only in frustration but in time and in money.

Statistically, 95% of our students successfuly learn kiteboarding, whereas in kiteboarding schools with old kite gear, the success rate is maybe 10% for poeple like you who want to learn to kiteboard.

You see, it makes life very difficult when kites are old and sunburnt.
A kite gets 'sun-burnt' after 350 'sun hours' (the hours the kiteboarding kite was exposed to sun) for models of year 2007. And older kites have much much less sun-tollerance.

b. "Do You Teach Kiteboarding With RADIO HELMETS?"

Stefan, our Kitexcite founder, innovated the kiteboarding radio helmet. He looked for ways to make learning how to kiteboard a SAFER, FASTER AND EASIER experience for students of his kiteboarding school. And you know what? It works.
Radio helmet kiteboarding lessons save you time and therefore also money.

Most kitesurf schools don't know about kiteboarding radio helmets. Some know and even have them in their kite school, but rather not use them unless explicitely requested to.

Why don't other kiteboarding schools use radio helmets (Stefan hadn't even bothered to patent his Kiteboarding Radio Helmet) if theye so good?
Time is money, RIGHT..?!
The less time you need to learn to kiteboard the less they'll earn.
They don't care if you'll be running back and forth all day long on the beach.
Or if you might have a fear of being out there on your own and get frustrated when things don't go smoothly with your kite in the water…

Their mentality is to think: So what if you'll need to get back to shore to hear from your kiteboarding instructor what you did wrong back there in the water…

How do you suppose they will deliver your kiteboarding lessons without radio helmets, when you're in the water and can't hear instructor who's standing on the beach?

Think about it:
Kiteboarding is an extreme sport. Best for you to take every precaution and to increase your personal safety or that of your loved ones, when taking a kiteboarding course.

In any case, make sure at least they give you some sort of a helmet.

c. "Are you Teaching Kiteboarding with Motor Boat or Jet Ski?"

Saves you a lot of time to learn with off-the-shore boat.
Cuts the time waste in third.
Why? Because kiteboarding Students always get blown downwind. And they end up walking back all the way.

Now, with the boat, you save 50-60% of your time since you needn't walk back up the beach.
Having a motor boat near you, is also quite helpful if you can't water start after crashing your kite into the sea.

d. "What Happens if I Break any Kiteboarding Equipment?"

In Kitexcite we have 100% insurance for our equipment, to cover our students.
Not every school is insured so make sure you are learning kiteboarding in a school like Kitexcite in kitebeach cabarete, to avoid unexpected costly mistakes.

f. "What Kiteboarding Wind Conditions Have You?"

Not good to have strong offshore or gusty winds.
Easier and safer to learn with consistent side-onshore winds or side winds.

g. "Are there any SHARKS or other dangerous sea life in the waters?"

Dominican Republic Cabarete Kite Beach has no sharks and no dangerous sea life in the pleasantly warm tropical waters.
When you learn to kiteboard you'll be in the water a lot, so think about this factor when choosing a kite school.
