The school, launched in 1999 by Kiteboarding veteran, Stefan Ruether, is situated on the white-sand beach of Kite Beach, Cabarete. The perfect wind conditions, the sandy beach, the sun and the special magic of the Caribbean, make Kitexcite one of the best places in the world for a kiteboarding vacation.

The Kitexcite school is adjacent to Kite Beach Hotel, which offers ocean-front rooms, a swimming pool, Wi-Fi internet and a restaurant, accessible to Kitexcite visitors. In addition to kiteboarding lessons, Kitexcite provides kite repair, rental, and storage in its location in Kite Beach, Cabarete.

Learn the theory before you arrive.

We can start teaching you before you arrive in Cabarete. As soon as you have booked your lesson with Kitexcite,you will get access to our online teaching movie library. This will give you a jump-start on the learning process even before your visit to Cabarete, saving you money and valuable holiday time. You will be out on the water more quickly enjoying kiteboarding in the warm waters of beautiful and sunny Cabarete.

The Complete Kiteboarding Course

Complete Kiteboarding Lessons & Kitesurfing Courses with equipment, optional Radio Helmets!

Our 8-hour beginner coursefor clients with no experience is $299 semi-private, or $349 private including all equipment. In the beginner course, you will receive 7 hours of instructions and 1 hour Video learning (before you arrive, or in Cabarete). Our mission at Kitexcite is to teach the skills and knowledge needed so our students have the capability to safely practice kiteboarding on their own. We can adapt the beginner course to your specific needs and wishes, i.e. we can do it in 2 days or 3 days.

Our 10-hour beginner course with Radio for clients with no experience is $348 semi-private, or $398 private including all equipment. In the beginner course, you will receive 6 hours of instructions (4 out of the 6 hours with Radio helmets) 1 hour Video learning (before you arrive, or in Cabarete) and 3 hours Supervision, 3 or more hours each day.

Stefan, the founder of Kitexcite originated the idea of using radio helmets as teaching aids in the sport of kiteboarding. This help us make more efficient use of your time. Radio helmets are used as soon as your instructor feels that it will be beneficial to your learning curve. The helmets allow you to get IMMEDIATE FEEDBACK while you're on the water re: what you're doing right and wrong in terms of your kite, body and board position. Kitexcite has the only independently owned safety boat on Kite Beach. It is used for rescue and teaching.

We have just completed construction of a second story glass enclosed observation deck where we have total unobstructed views of kite beach. We have state of the art video and photography equipment which enables us to video/photograph our clients and together we view the videos and critique your s kiteboarding technique and skill.

All our Instructors are IKO or Kitexcite certified. We teach in in English, German, Spanish, French, Russian and Italy. At the end of your training IKO we give you a free Kitexcite kiteboarder card, or for $19 the IKO certification.

After the beginner course and as soon as you demonstrate good kite control and reasonable on-board skills then you can move to supervision. SUPERVISION, includes a helper who makes sure you have set up your kite properly, helps you launch and land your kite, keeps an eye on you as you develop your on board skills, and helps you carry your board or kite back upwind to practice again. Usually after a complete course people don't need more than 1 to 2 sessions of supervision.

Supervision 2 hours $69.90 or for the Day 89.90, including safety and Kite equipment.

For equipment rental we now offer board and kite rental for $68 per Day and $298 per week.

We operate as rental pool, which means when you rent with us, you can keep trying different kite and boards

Kitexcite is the distributor for Best Kiteboarding and Crazy Fly equipment in the Dominican Republic and offer great prices on new and used gear. We refund part of your lesson fees on purchase of Kiteboarding equipment. With the money that you will save by buying your equipment here you can pay for your airfare!!
